{"id":1791,"date":"2023-02-20T22:07:59","date_gmt":"2023-02-20T16:37:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/evconnectmag.in\/?p=1791"},"modified":"2023-02-20T22:07:59","modified_gmt":"2023-02-20T16:37:59","slug":"hyperbats-ev-battery-expertise-wins-multi-million-lotus-evija-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/evconnectmag.in\/index.php\/2023\/02\/20\/hyperbats-ev-battery-expertise-wins-multi-million-lotus-evija-contract\/","title":{"rendered":"<strong>Hyperbat&#8217;s EV battery expertise wins \u00a3multi-million Lotus Evija contract<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>One of the UK\u2019s leading manufacturers of high-performance electric vehicle battery packs has sealed a \u00a3multi-million-pound contract to supply batteries to Lotus for its new all-electric Evija, the world\u2019s most powerful production car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hyperbat was formed to bring together&nbsp;Williams Advanced Engineering\u2019s (WAE)&nbsp;EV battery expertise with&nbsp;Unipart\u2019s&nbsp;capability in manufacturing safety-critical products for premium OEMs. This combination of engineering excellence and Tier 1 manufacturing capability was established to support the scale-up of EV production in the UK and will manufacture the 90kWh lithium-ion battery packs destined for use in the first British-made all-electric hypercar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Full production will take place at the firm\u2019s brand-new production line at Unipart Manufacturing Group\u2019s site in Coventry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mid-mounted battery pack will support a target output of 2000 PS and performance targets of 0-62mph in under three seconds and a top speed of over 200mph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The manufacturing process involves assembling 12,000 components split across 500 unique parts and 100,000 welds in each pack.
